Default The Senator Was Wrong????

Following the Bani massacre & after Senator Wilton Guerrero from Peravia presented his proof of links between the local military, police, fiscals etc & the narcoindustry an investigatory commission was set up (Attorney General, Chief of Police, Chief of Armed Forces) and.................guess what? Their conclusion is that the Senator was wrong and there are no links.

On the same day as the President says at his inaugural 'Los capos de la droga y del crimen, pues, que escuchen bien, porque aquí, en la República Dominicana: ¡no pasarán!'

Could there be anything so transparent? I hope the Senator stays alive after this.

Something wrong with the first link, diariohorizonte.

As far as that commission, if I'm not mistaken they took less than two weeks to come out with that verdict. Laughable but sad.

You didn't think the government would come out an admit the problem. They will likely try to get rid of the problem but to publically admit it is expecting too much.

The Diario Horizonte link works for me, A.Hidalgo. Do you want me to copy/paste you the article by PM?

But by not even finding 1 or 2 sacrificial lambs, which is what they normally do in such cases, the commission itself looks as if it is also involved...............no?

The best thing that could happen to this Senator is for them to find that he was "wrong", because otherwise heads would have to roll and this guy would be a dead guy if he's not already.

I couldn't believe he would come out saying stuff like this publicly, specially if he believes you can't trust the government as they are involved in the trade. I for sure thought (and still think) is just a matter of time before they get to him. I thought it was very brave, but stupid...

I just wonder whom they they want to fool with all these pantomimes.
Even kids ages 7 and up will tell you the logical thing:
Police, Army and tigueres work hand in hand in all the local drug distribution. Small time tigueres pay around 25'000 Pesos a week in franchising fees... the big imports and wholesale are handled by Colonels and Captains on down.
How would it not be so? Kids, foreigners, and even newly arrived tourists know WHERE to buy drugs on the streets... wouldn't then the police know and if they weren't in on the action shut these outlets down... in a country where position, use and even worse commerce with drugs as light as weed are forbidden by law?

I often wonder if even the president of this country is in too weak a position in order the obvious thing (?). Maybe he just lacks a powerful enough background... I don't know.

Likewise. There might just be a chance he has gone so public that that will give him some protection for now but I wouldn't be surprised to hear in say 8-9 months time when the publicity has all died down that he is the unfortunate victim of a car accident. And we'll all know then, won't we?

There's no need to get racial, Robert.

Besides, you are insulting gorillas.
