A Dominican friend, who is a prof at UASD, told me that the current (or proposed) budget includes a subsidy for the Metro that is 14 million (or billion- I never know the right words in Spanish) pesos - compared to the TOTAL education budget which is 4 million (billion) - Can any one confirm? Could this really be true?
This was reported in DR1 news recently.
I'm not sure but I think the ridership was around half the projection and the subsidy was $25 million US$.
Not sure if this was for the quarter or some other time frame.
I am surprised that Nals and Pichardo did not comment on this.
