I'm looking for specific information on a relative that was born at the turn of the 18th century in Santo Domingo and also another one that may have lived there at the same time but was of French nationality (SD was under French control at that time).

If anybody will be heading to the archives to do research and wouldn't mind checking for these two people's last names (very uncommon for sure) I would appreciate it.

Im going to check for mine. Like gengas khan , my family of seafaring men were all about. Im sure that one or two were here as i am.
you can start by looking for your last(family) name in the national phone books . there are two of them...
The first time i was in the capital i checked and bingo, a hit. I called and the # was dead. I never checked again.
the english- they come and then they go....
