Intimacion de Pago vs. Mandamiento de Pago

Hi,

What is the difference between an "Intimacion de Pago" and a "Mandamiento de Pago"? Is it illegal for a finance company to repossess a car without having first sent the latter (just the former)? If so, what can be done in such a case?
