And it's going to be more like D'Oh! when you get here and find out that things just don't work the same way they do in the United States.

Just because your models sign a release, even assuming the ID is not fake (it will be) even assuming they are of proper age (they won't be), even assuming it is perferctly legal and you've followed all the proper steps you may still wind up on the wrong side of a cell door just because your actions are known and some local police colonel wants a piece of the action. Or because one of the models family decided to pay off a fiscal with a bigger bribe then you gave to have you picked up and tossed in the local pokey until you can out bribe the police. Or someone in Santo Domingo goes on an anti-porn, or anti-explotation campaign to make an example of you. Officialdom here does not have the same respect for the law that they do in the U.S. and continually bend written laws until they snap whenever it suits their purpose.

I know it's rough when people don't give you the answers you want to hear. But no matter how many times you ask the question buddy you're going to get the same answer. Deal with it. Duh!

Nude photography is an extremely hot subject in the DR, perhaps in some ways even more so than the other aspects of sex.

Whether the reason is that the police/officials involved in the raids want to pad their own collections or whatever, it is simply too hot to handle. Anyone caught would likely go straight to jail, and most prisoners in the DR haven't been convicted.

I know someone whose residence was raided just on the "possibility/hope" of finding nude photos. There was no actual suspicion and certainly no formal complaint.

A couple of years ago this board reported that a survey of Dominicans found that about 25% thought that the Catholic Church, rather than the laws of the DR, actually controlled the country. Another 25% thought that the USA does. Anyone who needlessly takes on either of those self-appointed guardians of our sexual purity, much less both at the same time, is asking for trouble.

DR1ers greatly appreciate Mr. Guzman's excellent advice, but I'm sure that he would agree that legality and reality are not always the same in the DR. Better to be safe than sorry.

I do not want to hear any more of the useless comments about age and where the server is located. I DID NOT ASK THAT. And you people have no idea about how laws work on server location so stop adding your useless 2 cents.

This forum is suppose to be about law. Why is it no one here can answer a legal question? Why are so many people adding their opinion when they have no idea what they are talking about? I could get better answers asking my pet turtle.

Then why don't you go ask your pet turtle and stop bothering us with your rude blather? The turtle's explanations might be a bit above your level of comprehension judging by your posts here, though, so you might need to find someone who can dumb down turtle-ese a bit for you. Duh!

If you spent less space and bandwidth insulting people from whom your requesting help maybe it'd be a little easier to spot the few salient sentences in your rude posts.

Just a minor little point, I know, but if you'd paid any attention to any of the posts discussing all of the trouble you're going to have just privately taking nude pictures, um, I know this may seem a leap here for you so stay with me, but why then would even need to have somebody tell you what the response might be if you actually, oh, published them.

Hey, what the hell. Come on down, take your pics. You'll get your answer first hand. And then you can enlighten everybody here from your gained wisdom. After they let you ought in 20-30 years that is. Dominican jails don't have internet access I'm afraid. Be sure to post now when you're a free man!
