Question what can be the hold up

I have a friend that is frustrated with the situation about waiting; her son has traveled to DR just a few weeks ago because he had to show proof that his two daughters were his. He wanted me to represent him because I have a substantial amount of money in the bank and I refused to show proof of my savings and earnings because I was not sure if in the long run I would have been held responsible of him and his family in any way. However, a mutual friend did not mind, but he handed in the proof and nothing yet. The information that he has given me is that it is paper work after paper work, and no response. To ease a little bit of the family stress I do interpret and fill out some of his paper work but what else can he do besides waiting?

Question What are you talking about?

Who is waiting for what exactly?

The DR to allow his kids to leave?

Or the US for a visa for someone to go to the US?

This is hard to understand.

Like Ricktoronto I find your post hard to understand. I think in a roundabout way you are saying is your friend wants to get the two children from the D.R. to the U.S.

If that is the case, I don't know how good this friend is of yours. I suspect they want you represent (sponsor) them to obtain the U.S. visas for the children. It would be very charitable of you to do so. But, it involves financial and other responsibilities.

Don't show or give anybody any of your financial records until you find out what is really happening with this family, seek an independent confirmation. You may be the target of a scam. Your mutual friend should also take heed.

I have posted a website for you to see the rules and responsibilities of a sponsor.
