Unhappy Hard for Dominican travel to Canada

What an Dominican need to apply for a visitors visa?

Will I get a interview?

If my case is refuse, will they let me know the reason?

Can a Dominican 25 years old apply for a visa when almost none Dominican own a House, by that age cant afford to buy a House?

Where are proceced the files?

There a way to go Canada with a charter flight for Dominican
because in Canada the isn't no Problem to get the charter by the way there is not a Direct flight and every Dominican need a visa to go every where?

I will appreciate someone answer me thats question.

thanks

There is an ENTIRE post on this same thing which you also posted to, so maybe read that? You really don't have much of a chance. A few years ago they posted information that said a total of 202 visitors visas were granted. This compares to over 200,000 Canadian visitors to the DR.

They are fairly smart and I would think expect most visitor applicants not to leave, so they prevent you coming to start with.

As a resident and taxpayer I have to agree they need to be vigilant and people who have struck romances or friendships can try to write all the letters they want, the odds are very very poor and the application costs $$ to try.

If you get the visa you are in luck: Air Canada allegedly will be flying scheduled weekly service from POP as of December 1, (and maybe PUJ as well) to Toronto which lets you skip connecting in the USA as I bet you can't get a USA visa either. And as the TWOV program is dead as a mackeral now , no connecting in MIA or JFK anywhere, Canada included.

You asked a question, he gave you the answer about "Dominicans" obtaining a visa. His name is rick (roronto) so guess where he is from? Yes Dominicans may have the same rights as rick and yourself, where ever you're from but that doesn't mean you or whomever you are talking about will get a visa.

Actually I take that back you and whomever is applying for a visa doesn't have the same rights as Rick. He's already here.

Well ronnyalex whoever you are and wherever you are from, you are wrong in this respect. Here in Canada, Dominicans don't actually have the rights that I do. Any visitors etc., not just Dominicans.

We don't have work visas here unless you are sponsored by an employer for a job that they cannot fill with an existing resident.

We do have student visas but the selection process for those takes into account the risk of the "student" disapperaing into the underground society and not going back. There seems to be a close relationship to wealth and student visas ( partially because our schools here charge as much as 500% of the normal tuition for non-residents, e.g. student visa holders, so if you can afford $20,000 a year for tuition then you have a chance).

Visitors are screened beyond having an invitation or a letter from some nice Canadians that "promise" to send the person home (to the DR or wherever). If there is no strong financial ties to the original country we all know they will say no to the request.

Another reason they are very careful with visas is that a simple 5 day visa request becmes a refugee/asylum claim when the person lands. As we seem to take forever to deport phoney asylum refugees here they are more careful than ever in not getting those people into Canada to begin with. In the meantime they are free to wander around and collect welfare in some cases.

As for the part where you said this "How do you if Im able to travel US or Canada.?" - I assume you meant to ask how do I KNOW if you can travel, if you will recall you asked that question about direct flights to Canada when you started this post.

At least there now seems to be some (non-charter flights) , so you can get by without a US Visa. If you have a US Visa, well, good for you, fly via the US as there are many more flights than the weekly POP - YYZ flights on AC. Do you have a US visa? If not and with the TWOV program dead, it is a valid point.

By the way when and if they refuse the visa they don't normally say why, though it is always the same reason, that there is no resonable expectation that you will leave Canada when the visa expires.

They don't have to tell you why not, the immigration officer has the right to decide. Personally I think it would be kinder if they told people with a 0% chance of getting a visa that they are wasting their time so they don't collect a visa fee with no hope of a visa. Pre-screening would be a benefit in that regard.

Also, so you know, you can land in Canada with a tourist visa to a resident of the DR and if the immigration officers HERE at the airport think suspiciously of the person , then can, and do, refuse entry, lock the person up until there is a return flight and deport them without ever being allowed to enter the city.

I'm agree with you, But about Ricktoronto all that he have in his mind is that every Dominican are immigrant and that all of them
will cause problem outside Dominican Rep. he was sounding Anti-Immigrant.

I'm really feel happy when an Dominican have a visa to go some places. How many Dominican are in Canada are they causing problem?

I dont want to take this conversation so far but put it in this way.

In the Domican Rep. there Bad people too and they never close the Door to the good ones.

has you invited a close friend of you to come to Canada
for visit or any other reason?

Im agree with you but not with rickytoronto becasue not every Domican are Immigrant and if they do they do it for a reason
Canada Multicultural "People from wide world" I guess if there a Dominican Coming to Canada he'll be not happy.

All I mean every Dominican hard worker has to have right to get a visa, I am not agree about refugee but if there a Politic problem that person diserved. I'm agree at all but for a visa must be more flexible. How may Dominican go Germany, London, Italy, Japan, Rusia and some place esle and come back,

Every body diserve a Interview before to give them or not a Visa.

Rick didn't make the Canadian laws and neither did I. We are just trying to inform you.

Good luck and let us know how you made out so we can help others.
