How much is it to investigate someones background?
I need to know: if this person has any children, if they are married, criminal records, and some pictures, to see where this person goes at night. All by June 19th. Thanks

The Problem here in the D.R. is that not many Dominican Investigation Companies have any formal training, background, or any experience whatsoever, and control by government or lic. authorities are nil... I would estimate that the cost of what you are requesting depending on the location of the subject would be around 500.00 +..... including reasonable expenses.However each investigation can be tailored to a particular budget.
The reason I know this is that I am in the P.I. business, I advertise in the DR1 from time to time under Mike Lockwood and Associates. I have just checked out one Dominican Company for d.dream which no longer exists. So please....If in doubt...DONT....

It bothers me when other seek to sneak. Its very simply to me, "When in doubt, DONT." If you have reasons to suspect something, then more than likely youre correct. Take it from me, "People disappoint." Whether intentionally or unintentionally, they do. Take your licks like the rest of us and grow from the experience. I am moving to SDQ soon, a place I think of as a den of thieves. I know this and expect to lose somethings. Its a challenge for me. However, I wont lose my shirt because i am only playing with what I can afford to lose and not all that I have (hint). Guard yourself until you feel comfortable to open your door further. It might work, it might not. Otherwise drop that damn bum and get another one.

Tehama, I could not agree with you more!! I am not just talking about relationships gone wrong (which is most likely the root of this post), but I have learned that in life the only person you can ever really depend on or trust is yourself! Although I can see what you are saying and in most instances I would agree that if you need to hire a P.I. to investigate a person you "love" then your gut is probably already telling you what you need to know, sometimes when people are investing considerable amounts of time, money and their heart, getting answers to that inner voice is not all that crazy. DR1 is great, but I know it can make someone involved in a relationship with a Dominican paranoid (not always a bad thing) and if someone needs to satisfy themselves that someone is everything they seem to be, I think it's money well spent. Jon, I am not a love expert but my motto is that if you have to investigate someone, you already have doubts about that person. It's time for you to start thinking with your brain instead of your heart and you will save yourself a world worth of heartaches. Follow your gut feelings and do what your brain tells you. I thank you for all of your advise. I wont go and get a PI. Ima take a trip and personally check things out. As a dominican, I know I recognize that we are quick to spread negative rumors about people, without knowing if they are fact. And those rumors is what has me unsure about this situation.

Jon, if you are going to spend the money to go there yourself, at least make it a surprise visit! It will be worth every penny and something I have done myself!

An ex-girlfriend past on advise given to her by her father, "If you look, you will find". I'm not sure if he meant what the former posters were trying to say, that if you feel you need to look, he's guilty. I think it could mean that if you start looking, you'll keep looking until you do find something, and we ALL have something ugly that can be found. If your instincts have led you to trust the right people in the past, then he’s probably a good guy. Hope to see cheerful posts in the future about your relationship.
