Deslinde and negotiations

What advice would you offer on negotiating a purchase price on land for which a deslinde application has been filed? How would one go about to confirm the present land owner has indeed begun the process?

I would close in escrow until it is finalized. The Notary holds the money until it is completed.

It’s easy to check if the deslinde is in process. The surveyor in charge must have either a filing receipt from the Superior Land Court or, if the deslinde is more advanced, a resolution from the Court authorizing the deslinde. In both cases, your attorneys can verify the authenticity of the document at the Superior Land Court.
