Default A marriage plan

I was thinking of going this route...i´m wanting to get married here in the DR in Dec or early next year....but right now my finace and i are trying to figure out which visa to apply for...so i was thinking...apply for the k1 visa now...and pray it will go through around the time we get married, so after we´re married he can come right over with me...BUT...if we´re turned down, we will still go ahead and get married then i can just start the process for the c130 spousal visa (i know we will have to be apart)....how does that plan sound...are there flaws i´m not thinking of...your opinions would be appreciated

K1 visa (fiance/e visa) is intended for free-to-marry couples (US Citizen+foreigner fiance/e) who intend to get married IN the United States during the first 90 days the foreign fiance/e enters the US.

If you are planning to get married in the DR, then forget K1 visa. AFAIK you guys would screw his visa if u enter as a married couple using a K1.

When I brought my wife to the US (about 12 years ago), I was told that the fastest way to get her here was a K1 visa. At the time it took about six months (using a lawyer). I don't know what the situation is today. If you have any questions, you should probably consult an immigration lawyer.

And rethink the plan in total.
