Default Notary Public?

Can anyone tell me whether they have any Notary Public services available in the Punta Cana area? (I'm talking about US Notaries or similar - i.e., they watch you sign a document and swear to it's authenticity.) If not, do you know where I could find one?

Thanks in advance.

Notaries in the Dominican Republic are designated for a specific Municipality. Punta Cana belongs to the Municipality of Higuey. There are many Notaries in Higuey who can do the job for you.

If you are a U.S. citizen or foreigner with documents destined to the states that need to be notarized you would go to the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo have it done there.

For more official information you can consult the following link "Department of State" Santo Domingo embassy information.

The US Notary Public looks at your ID when you sign and verifies that you signed it.
Good luck.
