My Dominican husband!
Hello, I am an American-Citizen born in USA, I just got married three months ago to a Dominican who lives in the Dominican Republic and has no visa, and i also happen to be going on to my third month of pregnancy I would like to petition my husband so like that he could come to the US and we could start our family here! The thing is that i would also like to know if there is any possible way to get him here for the labor during April 2006? And i would also like to know if any one knows about how much time would it take me after i petition my husband for him to actually get the visa?
Thanks

What's that song? "And another one bites the dust" ???
Your resort worker will not get a visa for a year or so. Come down here, have the baby (it's a lot cheaper), Have the baby registered at the US Consulate--provided you are old enough to have lived in the US for a certain number of years past your 14th birthday, and continue your life....
Sorry you got knocked up so soon, that was silly...

If you knew what lies ahead of you you would not have put that smiley....
Please keep us informed whether your husband ever responds to your "petition".
All the best.

Probably not a chance to get him to The US before you have the baby as the appointment alone could be as long as six months. Your best bet is to petition for him on a fiance visa...

Since they are already married, he's not eligible for a fiancee visa.

JAP07,
The length of time all depends on what office your are using to petition your husband. A spousal visa takes longer than a fiance visa. However, I know of someone that did a spousal visa and because she was expecting, got her Senator involved and was able to speed up the process and get him here prior to the birth of the child.

Dont be so harsh on her.... Have you started the process yet.? It all depends.. I petitioned my husband it took 5 Months !! Mind you that I had to spend some $$.. to to a agency that deals with all the paperwork,. the key is to do everything right and in order. It can also depends what sate you live in too. So who knows if you already started the process lets say 2 months ago.. april 2006 can be a possibility.

Negrecita, Im sure that there were other people/things/money involved in the case you quote. Otherwise there would be a baby boom in the US and the fathers would all be coming for the 'deliveries!'
Jap07 - Wow, look at you all married and with child - and yet you dont know the laws on your man's country and how to bring him over. So in the research that you guys do, none of that was listed??
If he really wanted to be with his wife and kid, TRUST me he would be making arrangements for you to be in DR if you cant bring him over to the US so that he can work and support you guys fast enough. If thats not happening, baby girl, Im sorry but: Welcome to the Single Moms Club - you are always welcome to attend the meetings.
All the Best!
