What is the actual price to obtain a dominican residency?

I paid $1,200 US and got a residencia and cedula within 2 months. The facilitator drove me to the capitol, processed the letter of good conduct, took me to the x-ray and blood exam, bought me breakfast and lunch. Then drove me to the capitol when the documents were ready, paid the extra fees required for a VIP process. I think this was well worth the fee. I've heard stories of $600 US but the documents may not be actually registered.

Are you sure your cedula was actually registered? How would you know?

I'm guessing you could check at the JCE website. If your cedula appears in their database, I would assume it to be OK.
