Default How long after temp. res. expires?

I know you have to wait the full year of temporary residency before applying for permanent but how long after the expiration of the temp card can one wait? That is, my temp will expire in May but I will not be here to apply for the permanent one maybe until June or July or even August.

Thankyou kind respondents.

You shouldn't worry. The Immigration Department is very flexible on this issue. A two to three months delay won't be any problem.

I can confirm from personal experience that you shouldn't have any problem.
