Question Civil suits/ residency question...for Fabio Guzman

I am curious how having ones residency affects ones ability to bring a civil claim or counter claim in the Dominican Republic. More specifically, does a legal resident have any specific civil legal recourse that a non resident does not.

I know in the following link it states that a non resident may have to place a substantial bond when filing a claim but am hoping that Fabio Guzman can expand on the topic with any other pertinent information.

Apart from the requirement to place a bond to file a civil claim (Not applicable for labor claims) there are no other differences (rights or special recourses) between a resident and a non-resident plaintiff. The rule is simple, you can be sued, but you can't file civil claims without posting an extremely high bail (in comparison with the amount of the claim).
