Only if you are carrying more than the equivalent of US$10,000 in cash, or American Express Travellers checks, etc. And yes, it is asked about on the Customs form.

If you carry more, and don't declare it, they have the right to take it away from you if you're caught. If you carry more than $10,000 and do DECLARE it, get ready for a rubber glove inspection and some interrogation by the DNCD as to the source of your incredible wealth...
