I think you wil find he's a solid well respected real estate lawyer. Haven't heard anything bad about him, he is well known in Sosua.

I have known Guido for about 18 years and just recently used him in a real estate purchase as well as a landlord tenant event. I highly recommend him for his integrity and responsible-ness.

Guido works well by email
I am in the middle of a deal using Guido to buy a condo and his responsiveness to emails has been remarkable, including a quick response on a Sunday! He has shown attentiveness to this transaction even though its not a big deal for him. I recommend him.

Good real estate, bad residency
I hate to be the bad egg, although Guido did do an excellent job with my real estate transaction, he totally dropped the ball on my residency application.
I gave the man a month's notice that my container was to arrive in Santo Domingo. He waited until the last minute to produce the proper paper work for customs. I had to actually go to his office, interupt a meeting and get quite angry for him to actually get off his ash and do what needed to be done.
By the way I paid $1500.00USD for this service and because of his incompetence I'm paying another $200.00 in storage fees.
I would say, if you're using Century 21 for your real estate transactions you're in good hands, but if he offers to handle your residency politely say no and find someone else.

Unquestionably the best civil lawyer in Sosua.
The negative comments you will hear, geberally stem from the fact that he's just to darn popular and busy, and this could cause delays.
He speaks perfect English and is an alround nice guy.

Like Rocky said, the complaints I have heard about him have been from people who bought real estate through Century 21 and waited a very long time to get their title. The explanation that I got when I asked about it was that he was working alone and had more work than he could handle. Whether he has help now, I don't know.

Licenciado Guido
He treated us right, and being a stake holder in the
community I doubt he can afford to taint his reputation.
It's a small world here.

Guido is to busy working in Real Estate. Heck, a few years ago, he used to refer his residence apllicants to me. BTW I don't do it any more. Several lawyers offer this service. As for Aduana, if you speak Spanish, just go down to the port and there are specialists (Lawyers) there who will take care of things for a reasonable fee. (Speak Spanish and NEGOTIATE)

Look, I agree that Guido is nice guy that speaks English. That was not the OP's original question. The OP wanted honest opinions as to our experience' with Guido and I've given my honest opinion.
Guido does a great job when he's presented with real estate closing' from his family' company.
I just spent 6 hours in the office of Aduanes yesterday getting my Cargo container released. There were several mistakes that were made by Guido ('typos') on my documentation that caused additional problems.
If Guido is too busy to do his job properly then he needs to refer clients to another attorney or decline the business. It seems to me that the posters are more impressed with Guido' laungage skills than his legal skills.
