Get a good lawyer who will do it in weeks for you with spending only a few hours.

PM me if you want, my company lawyer does everything for me and my partners.

Any lawyer that tells you they can get a residency in weeks should not be trusted. They are cutting corners or greasing palms. This is fine until you have a problem or go to renew, then you find out it's not valid.

But hey, if your willing to take the risk and maybe later get really screwed, go for it!

This advice is all too true.. Let us know how your few weeks to process residency ends up..It takes that long to do the background info on you..Then there are the other steps..Will your quickie abogado act as your guarantor? If so thats good..Again let us know how this turns out should you decide to do it this way...

Stefan,

I can't stress how much Robert and zac are right, get reputable lawyer! Search "legal" section of this board for references...

It is true that you will spend only a few hours of your time to apply for residency, but waiting for your application to be processed will take a few "Dominican" weeks - government machine moves sloooooow everywhere, even more so in DR. Good luck!
