Default Visa for visiting DomRep

"this is a repost in the correct forum"

Hi All,

I just received my visa for DR today (I needed one). the issue is that my trip to DR is from 23 June to 07 July (and i clearly specified that in my request formular and in the booking confirmation i sent to the DR embassy) but the Visa I received is valid from 02 May to 02 July, which means it will expire while i am still there. I called the consulate and they said that it's not an issue and that what counts is the entry date

Can anyone help please if that's true, and maybe who should I call in Puerto Plata to be sure I wont be in trouble when I arrive to the airport?

Many thanks!

Y.

What country you are coming from?
Try to ask someone in Airport company when you book the ticket? You have to take to way ticket...
I think that you shouldn't have a problem..I now people who overstay in DR
few months and more... and just pay some penalty when they leave the country.
It isn't some huge amount... I think below 5 000 RD$, but it depends on time you overstayed in country....

If you are coming from Germany and you are a German citizen you do not need a visa to enter the DR only a tourist card and you can get that at airport when you land.
