Prostitution isn't illegal but soliciting and pimping are.

IIRC prostitution is legal BUT pimping is not.

this happened, at least partly, at "Casa de las Modelos" a known "house" and that probably crosses the line.

They just didn't pay off the police at the correct time or one of the whores caused a problem. Prostiution is not legal here. But the Red Cross used to go into the whore houses and check for sexually transmited bugs.

Yes it is legal. last year I thought it was illegal but some one... I think it was Robert (may he rest in peace) proved to me that it was legal.

The part of the story that I found noteworthy was the following:

"Llamó la atención, que a esa hora de la madrugada, cuando llegaron con los presos al Palacio de la Policía, ya parientes y allegados de los detenidos los esperaban allí, incluido un general de la Policía.

El oficial policial buscaba que se le entregara uno de los militares detenidos, pero la fiscal adjunto Matos no accedió y el general reaccionó amenazando con hacerla cancelar."

The journalist mentions here that PN general showed up to intercede for one of those arrested, a military officer, and that the assistant DA did not accede (no accedió) or give consent to the general's request to release the prisoner, upon which the general threatened the assistant DA with dismissal (hacerla cancelar).

Legality does not influence the work of the police much here.
It could have well been that they needed some money for the forthcoming weekend...

You see, 28 x 500....

I thought that part was funny too but I get why that happened.
Can you imagine how ****ed off that "general" must of been !?!?!

How dare this "woman" not release his friend AT ONCE !!!
Sadly he may be able to get her fired .... that is why I can't live there.

I'm sure that behind this operativo (police operation) there is the dank and somber robe of a very high ranking general and man-of-the-cloth, Major General Nicolás de Jesús López Rodríguez (aka The Cardenal).

I just realized I made a huge mistake.... I didn't mean to say Robert I meant to say Rick Snyder. Sorry Robert I wish you no harm!!!
