Just to get a few things straight. Your cedula was canceled because your identity was stolen?

I believe if memory serves you are from Canada right? Don't you have your Canadian passport/birth certificate etc?

Default Cedula Gone

You're a Canadian expat, right?
You do have a 'residencia' don't you?
Has your name and cedula been used in any transactions from which you suffered financial loss?

Default Can't see a problem

Just go to JCE with your residencia and passport. Say you lost your cedula. RD1200.00 and they give you another. "Unless there's something we don't know about" Forget the "stolen" part. It was LOST.

Default Not for me!!

Its for a dominican who lives in the DR. He applied for a new job in November and was told his cedula has been cancelled!! Has been going to Santo Domingo to resolve this and isn't getting anywhere. I think he needs a lawyer. Do you know any that can help with this kind of thing?

Dominicans are issued a cedula when they turn 16.

Here's what Mr Guzman has posted about "lost" cedulas.
