It's not about heart, it's about small steps toward a better life!
No, you do not have a great understanding of the situation.
In fact, the more you "speak", the more you prove that point.
Even your "facts" are incorrect.
From which orifice do you pull these numbers out?
And did I suggest that you said?

So why deny it?
You don't even understand what is presented to you.
I mentioned that a retired couple might pay a maid a US equivalent salary and not suffer any economic consequences, whereas a business has to remain competitive, so as to not have an overpriced product.
Furthermore, you say,

when I made no such claims.
At this point, one might question your sanity or ability to read and understand.
Take a good look at what I wrote and find me the part about me making the same claims the government males.

Your heart may be in the right place, but you have little to no understanding of the situation.
If a retired couple moves here and are used to paying a maid $2,000 US/month, and they continue to do so here, that's fine.
But if someone is operating a business and he decides to pay US wages, he would price himself out of the market and go bankrupt.
I hope you're not going to say that it's the last sentence, because the government makes no such claims.
Individual businessmen recognize that fact, throughout the world.
Those who don't, are either bankrupt or on the way.
Your lack of wisdom and knowledge are further demonstrated by you using your email address as a DR1 nickname.
Even a child should know better than to do that.
