Default Newly married and looking to move to DR...

My husband is Dominicano living in DR. I am Canadian and am going to move to DR. I need some advise on how to go about it re:visa or citizenship? Am travelling in next few weeks to Punta Cana area and need to know where in Santo Domingo to go (offices or government dept) and what documents I should bring....I need some advise from anyone who can help...moving in the autumn...

You don't need anything to move to the DR however if you are planning on working legally you should apply for residency.

Would filing for citizenship be easier than applying for residency since I am already married to Dominican man?

You should apply directly for citizenship if your country of origin allows double nationality.

File for Dominican citizenship in the DR once you come to the country.
By Law, you're given the right to request Dominican citizenship by marriage to a Dominican citizen born in the country. This only applies to women marrying Dominican men, not men marrying Dominican women (odd isn’t it?).
