Too funny, I can see nobody in this thread has ever had a labor issue in the DR.

and never want too. BUT if I did, I would take Robert's advice as he has seen this time and again,( I know this as I have read many of his posts on this subject).

To the OP. Best advice you have gotten here is from Robert.

Good Luck.

Why do you say this Robert? Because we are blissfully ignorant of how it can all go horribly wrong?

I did agree with you - bow, scrape , bow

All you really have to do is check out Robert's credentials. He's been around the block a few times, and he is as respected as anyone on DR1. Along with HillBilly, Rocky, and a few others, he is one I always pay attention to, and he never wastes a word.

My dilema is, she is using the letter to say she worked for me and was fired to get liquidation. She asked me for a favor, to help her get a job but was really wanting it to bribe be into paying liquidation.
Sorry, I misunderstood your original post - I see that now.

You are in a tough predicament brought on by actually trying to do someone a favor - best of luck.

Hasn't anyone realized that the OP lied on a document that she gave to someone to use to provide information to a company so someone could get a job under false pretences. ("We own our own business so i said yes and stated she had worked for us for 9 months and earned a pretty low wage.")

If I hired this person based on this false letter, I would be very upset to find out that the employee never even worked for the OP. While this kind of thing happens all the time, it doesn't make it ok.

This is "corrupt", and, while not punishable by death, the op should pay her "fine" to the "employee" she created and be done with it. Chalk it up to lessons learned and things never to do again.

well there you have it all the sage advise and the most prominent say you should pay up.
This does beg the question,....is there or has there been a fued lately with the relatives....its not normal behaviour.
Perhaps you could settle the fued without having to go to court or having to pay???

I am not going to ask what you are implying as whatever it is ,it really sounds "out of line". C'mon Skippy1 don't stir any pots. The OP came on with a question,( and absolutely Campensina she did something real wrong, but at least she admitted to it so I am sure she will have to pay for her mistake), and should have solid answers as this is something serious.

Best of luck to you and learn from your mistakes. They can be very costly.

Tell her you will pay the $16k and set up a time for her to come to your home to sign the paperwork and collect the money. When she comes by, have a police detective in plain clothes present "oh, he's a old friend from San Pedro who stopped by to visit". Then tell your "friend" you will be just a minute while she signs some papers there in the sala.

This chica will sign fast to get the $$$, and as she does, bait her with something like "you sure got me on this one" or something similar. She will probably be so full of herself for pulling a fast one, she will blurt out something stupid that will incriminate herself and/or her boyfriend, so that the detective can arrest her and put her in the pokey.

Most judges here would forgive your stupidity for trying to help out a family member by writing a false document long before they would excuse fraud on this magnitude. They may be able to get her after all. If they do, she will be put away for a couple of years, and you will keep your money. No lawyers fees chasing it either.

If she clams up and just walks out with the $$, you have learned a good lesson: the only woman in this world who won't try to screw you is your MOMMA!
