Unhappy Inheritance with a twist???

When a father(a DR citizen) dies, leaving a wife, 3 adult children and survivors (grandchildren) of a 4th deceased child, what are the succession laws? Are any documents made public regarding the succession? Is there a "forced heirship" with children?

Looking in to this because my ex-spouse's father died, with a CONSIDERABLE estate. I need to know if my ex is has received an inheritance because it will effect the amount of support I pay. Also, my ex and I live in USA. I believe my ex has a student visa (not sure), but my ex's siblings are citizens and the mother is (and father was) a permanent resident.

Thank you in advance for your time!

Default clarification

Upon reading the original entry, I need to clarify: Siblings are citizens of USA, and parents are permanent residents of USA (but live in DR).

sorry

The 3 children and the heirs to the deceased 4th child will inherit at least 75% of the estate because of forced heirship rules, to be divided in four equal parts.
