nope
no not a military man but one of my sibblings is a FED Working with the dominican officials, but he carries .40 cal so he cant be issued 9mm rounds. my uncles are all high ranking military and can get the rounds for free But being that i come from the STATES you can imagine how these guys are, they wont release any rounds unless u have the right money. and they dont even hook up family members. but yet their friends never have to buy rounds beause they hook them up.
im going to look into this reloading thing. I mean importing Empty shell casings cant be a problem because its empty metal. the press can be sent as machinery, and the gun powder and aluminum can be shipped also just not sent together. So as Far as i know I dont see a problem But i will ask some of the guys that work for the gencia that i use to send the tanques de ropa y comida to see if the empty shell casings will cause a problem.
I have a finca, i like to go Shoot, go to walmart buy a pack of 12 Full body Size Targets for $4 bucks tie them to a thick Platano Tree and vuala your own personnal shooting range, LOL
at 65 bucks for a box of 50 rounds is just redicoulous.

You are alowed to carry ammo with you in your checked luggage as long as it is in its original box, I always tell the TSA that I have ammo in the US but have never been stopped with it in DR. I usually take a box or 2 for a few of my buddies in the military there.

From TSA;
TSA: What To Know Before You Go
"Ammunition - Check with your airline or travel agent to see if ammunition is permitted in checked baggage on the airline you are flying. If ammunition is permitted, it must be declared to the airline at check-in. Small arms ammunitions for personal use must be securely packed in fiber, wood or metal boxes or other packaging specifically designed to carry small amounts of ammunition. Ask about limitations or fees, if any, that apply. Read our Firearms & Ammunition section."

damn
ok so u can fly with ammo from over here No problem even if u dont have a license to carry a firearm over here???? getting the rounds are not a problem as all my family members are cops and can get the law enforcement discounts :P but what i wanna know is
Over there! Will there be a problem once the maleta goes through the x-ray scanners i mean i wouldnt wanna raise suspicion of opening the maleta and taking the ammmo out and having them see it. Hmm even though now that i thnk about it,.,,,,, bullets Are made of Lead And cant be seen by the X-Ray Alll mthey see are the shell cassings which are metal,,, Hmm Idk Anyone else Doing this???? i mean i love to shoot in my finca. Releives Stress, Keeps Groups Tight, Keeps sight alignment to the T. But at 2000 Pesos for 50 fmj is just redicoulus.
The holos dont really care because those are kept for carrying in firearm on the street.
