Default By the way thank you!

I would like to thank the people on the board that have come forward and backed some of the things I felt leery of in the first place. Some of you have related incidents that you are familiar with, which were contrary to some that were originally expressed; and others have taken the time to send me pm's, saying that you felt the same way.

All I will say is thank you, I hear you and all I am trying to do is if I feel a certain way is express how I feel and have an open and honest discussion among adults. We don't all have to feel the same way or agree in each situation. I just actually like to try and promote a discussion where we can agree to disagee in a civil and adult way. You don't have to agree with my opinion, just realize that it is as valid as yours, unless you can illustrate where the discussion or point of view isn't valid. When you show me that I would be foolish if not down right ignorant to argue the point.

Stealing a Scooter Where I come From Is Like Stealing a Horse !

Hang em High!

Now If You steal My Lobster Traps!

Hang em Low!

A thief is a thief of course and not a horse, either way you have to put them down!

Funny isn't it how these crackdowns always take place at a factory or a slaughterhouse-meaning, they get these people AT WORK while they are WORKING.

These crackdowns, if anyone cares to venture and do some research, are politically motivated by local politicians who want to get re-elected on a peripheral hot-button topic that gets everyone riled up like illegal immigration.

But the backlash has been very ironic. In the towns where these newly deported illegals came for work, the local businesses are struggling because all the workers are back in Mexico. So the money that used to circulate has gone back on a burrito south of the Rio Grande.

And of course, the factory/slaughterhouse owners are left to sit outside their buildings because their employees have been deported.

How do you expect Americans to run a business without a workforce to underpay?

You really expect business people to have to pay payroll taxes and offer health benefits in this day and age?

How Un-American!!!

Somewhere, Ayn Rand is turning over in her little capitalist grave, and for good reason.

What are these businessmen supposed to do now that Guillermo, Raul, Pedro and Jose are back in Chimichanga, Mexico with nothing to do except wait and die from swine flu?
you were doing really well until you got on to Ayn Rand. I'm pretty sure her form of Laissez-faire Capitalism actually prevent worker exploitation.

Possibly teaching English. What was his occupation in the US? The other thing many deportees do is use family connections down here, if they still have them. Maybe contact Rene Vicioso of Bienvenido SEAS?

Sounds to me like he started out fairly young on the road to crime. Then he didn't have enough sense to play the game according to Hoyle.
Failure to attend an "anger management" program as part of his probation(??).
There is more here than meets the eye.

thanks god this thread had Vince and ExtremeR and Berzin, otherwise those answers to nothing and guessing without a clue would be sure the BS theme of the year.
americans writing nobody gets deported from their country just for the simple violation of immigrations laws?
all from over there deported dominicans are drug criminals?
to read so much BS on just one thread with a simple OP question hurts, at least it hurts me b/c i very often enjoy to read and also answer on this bord simply because of the good variety of themes and the great community of which i also had the pleasure to meet a bunch in person over the time.
to follow the prior threads of a bunch just rereading only a few of their prior posts even brings up that those writeres are not even legally here on the lovely Isle themselves. what would those think if been putted on a list and then picked up and loaded on a plane back home to mom?
why,
heck, no helmets on the motorbike, no sinturon in the car and don't forget that you do not even have a fu$$ing residency, so what ya wanna justice somebody else?

to answer the OP question:
the deporties arrive and have to do some paper work upon arrival, most checks on their person/in specific if they are also wanted here in the DR for any crime, are done prior to their arrival, they get released to family members who have to sign 'responsibility' to guarantee that they are available for further questions/investigations in case later on it comes out that they been wanted.
and off they go.
yes, they are in the police records as deportees here from then on, like i would guess an american who get's deported from here to there would also be in the records of Mom's police records.
and where would all those people purchase their cheap affordable clothing aso if Walmart would not any longer have such available b/c there are no more cheap labourers from south of the Rio Grande who are willing to do the job?
the immigrations stuff for EACH COUNTRY is a complicated theme which can not be named in one sentence or one post and could anyways not be discussed together in one thread for different countries with their different situations/histories/and for that different laws and should not be started to rant about by highjacking a simple question of an OP.
thanks to Vince and ExtremeR and Berzin finally also serious and educated answers came out.
good luck for the OP and the boyfriend,
just keep him away from those scooters, lol.

At the risk of alienating you further (& the Boss a wee bit I suspect), do I detect a fair bit of double standards here Berzin? In your role as moderator you 'CLOSE' a fairly lighthearted & innocuous thread about some DR residents being homesick for their home state of Texas & then wax lyrically about Mexican immigration (legal or otherwise) & the loss Businessmen face as a result IN THE US of A. Not ONE mention of nor insinuation to ....... the DR!!

Okay Robert - I have written this now & gotten it out of my system. You are bound to delete this but when you do, PLEASE close the thread too as the OP has not returned & brought this thread back to any form of DR content! ~ Grahame.
I totally agree. There is also some thread about Twitter that does not have anything to do with the DR. Yet Mr. Berzin is so happy to close the thread about the pretty flowers.
