Of course he doesn't. He provides a free service here and he has the option to pick and choose what posts he responds to.

If you're that keen to receive a response from Fabio, I suggest you pick up the phone and have a consultation with him.

Well, my questions were more of a general kind.
Questions which would always come to one's mind as one knows that justice is rather elusive in this country.

I have no reason to defend JGT, but let's keep in mind that Gabriela has a major grudge against this attorney.

At least in the Puerto Plata Digital article I saw no reference to him being drunk. Perhaps I missed it or it has been established elsewhere.

Also, the posts here on DR1 in this & the other thread have people casting blame on the attorney... we all know how driving is here - who is at fault I've yet to see established other than by a couple of posters apparently unsupported claims that it was JGT.

Whether someone is guilty seldom depends on facts here.

There are more important questions to investigate:

- Who has money?
- Is a 'funcionario' involved?
- Who is well connected (to a VIP or to a politician)?
- Are we looking at a gringo/a with little or no protection?

There are not many rich people in jail.

This is the legal forum.
My question was

I would like to know, Dr. Guzman, what effect this will have on his ability to practice law, and what legal punishment will he face?

Since I believe JGT was working against me while I was paying him, and continues to represent the person impeding my ownership of my inheritance, I would like to know the law regarding lawyers involved in death by vehicle.

I have tried to retain Dr. Guzman, in the past, but he turned down my case.

Then I suggest you address your question to whoever you retained and is now handling your case.

A confirmed and irrevocable guilty verdict against a lawyer means he/she will not be able to practice law (Art. 73 of Law #821 of 1927).

The standard prison time for "homicidio involuntario" is from 6 months to 2 years (Art. 319 of the Penal Code) or longer in case of aggravating circumnstances.
