Question B-B guns? Legal in the DR? Importable?

A B-B gun, or air gun, in the USA is a rifle or pistol, where the cartridge is powered by air pressure. A "B-B" is a very small, round, metal pellet ejected forcefully from the gun. Other similar, small metal pellets are fired from some, similar type B-B guns..
* Costs? $20 - $75 @ Wal-Marts, etc. They are usually sold to young males, who use them for target practice & small game. No license or permit is needed in most American states.
* Can 1 legally possess a B-B gun in the DR?
* Is a gov't license r permit necessary?
* Can a B-B gun be legally imported?
* Does any DR poster own 1? If so, problem areas? Negative experiences?
Thank you.

Default You will need a firearms license, as I understand it.

In the DR a BB gun can be purchased if you have a firearms license.
I don't think you can purchase one without such a license.

That means, I doubt you can import one. If you have a CO2 powered version, note that they will not allow the CO2 canisters on an airplane. I have a pistol that will penetrate a small phone book- much more powerful than my Daisy rifle or even my Cross Pump that I had when I was 12 years old.

yeap,
my latest notice about them, but it's been a while since last update, been that the holder of a gun permit is allowed to have 'em in the house/own property, not to carry around or such.
in case of importations they are under the law for firearms,
no importations of such to this country since summer 2006.
