Default Divorce in DR

Does anyone have any info on Canadian lawyers or agencies who work with divorce lawyers in DR?

I am getting a divorce and was told by lawyers here that the divorce must be done in DR b/c the marriage was not performed in Canada. My husband (a Dominican citizen, living in DR) is agreeing to the divorce, so it is uncontested but I would rather have representation, that way I may not have to go at all. I know that the U.S. has agencies where lawyers take care of it all for you, but I cannot find any info for Canada.

Anyone have any idea on the cost or fees charged for divorce in DR?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

I'm not aware of any Canadian lawyers or agencies who work with divorce lawyers in DR.

The fees and expenses involved in a standard, uncontested mutual consent divorce are in the $300-$600 range, depending on the firm. Quickie divorces are more expensive.
