Foreign corporatio in the dr

What does a foreign corporation have to do to function in the dr? Can it import items for resale? What disadvantages would it face? Thank you!

Once you register your company with the tax authorities, which requires a local address and representative, it can function pretty much the same as a local company. There are instances, however, when a Dominican company is preferable for specific reasons: for example, certain tax exemptions only apply to local companies.
