    Default Importing A Fridge

I know I have read posts on shipping appliances from the USA but I want to know if it is cost effective to ship a fridge from Toronto, to POP. (Duties included)

Great deals to be found here in the GTA and when I brought my 50" led tv via West Jet, I saved 50% even after paying the duty.

Here is the link to the model I want and keep in mind, I can get it for $$1800.00 tax in, brand new!

LG Refrigerators | LG LFX31925ST French 3 Door Refrigerator | LG Electronics Canada

    Thanks

Why get a fridge with an ice maker if you can't drink the tap water?

That is the easy part. There is a kit that draws the water from an 18 litre water bottle for your cold water and purified ice.
You just hide it wherever and the ice maker works perfectly.
I know what I want model wise.
Just replies on importing would be preferred.

Look up this same model in the USA. Find a retailer that will ship free to a Miami warehouse,- depending on retailer you may not have to pay sales tax. From Miami you should be able to get it here for less than 400$. In Canada you will pay more for the refrigerator, and waaay more to get it here. I only know Montero Shipping from New York and Miami. Have used them for a stove from Miami location,- great people.

    Agreed
LOwe's /Home Depot will sell the item w/ free shipping.
Ship to Montero, Awilda , Rosa del Alta and it will be $300 - 400 to your door.

If you can visit a Scratch 'n Dent (even in Canada, Sears) that fridge will be about $1000 or less .

    Yes, I've done it.

    More,
I know you have your heart set on this fridge - we brought a big one down too - initially.
And I can see that you're getting a good price - down from $3,100 or so.

30 cuft is big... we found that b/c we shop more frequently here that food storage, especially cold storage is much reduced.
We now have a 21 cuft three door.

We are solar, so power was a concern .
But as a practical matter, we find the smaller one more suited to our needs.

    Just something to think about.

BTW, many here use your water/ice gadget and it seems to work well.

    Generally, I favour importing appliances.
Bought right - shipped right, it saves money and the quality can be better.

i find that a big fridge works well because i store lotsa stuff in it. sugar, coffee, rice, pasta, flour, bread and a variety of other products. water dispenser and ice maker not an issue, i have that feature too and the fridge is simply connected to the water bottle in a cupboard. but you will also need a small pump.

in any case, if you can ship it to miami you'll be good. we use vinicio's shipping and never had any issues. he shipped some appliances for us. alternatively you can check few mudanzas in your area. often they have few appliances they brought for someone that were never picked up. good prices.

Montero from Florida is probably your most cost effective solution.
