Default Sad to say farewell

I did not know Johnny Honda very much. I've only been lurking around DR1 for a brief time. But I certainly took great pleasure in reading the thoughts and ideas he posted. I will certainly miss them in the future.
And by what I've read from all of you, Johnny Honda will be missed by all.

Default Pics of Johnny Honda

On page 16 of the media gallery there are 2 pics of Johnny Honda on his bike as well - check them out !
Although I didn't know him - from one Harley rider to another - let the "wings" of angels now guide you on your longest ride.

Default he looks like such a young guy, how old was he?

While I can't claim to have know him personally, 2 months ago I thought I saw him cruising the malacon on his bike. Northernes on bikes are a novelty on the north coast so I figured it was him. I wish his family only the best and hope they get through this tragic time. His memory in all of us is his lasting legacy.

Unhappy Sorry to hear the bad news.

I didn't know Johny personally, but I have had the opportunity of reading many of his posts. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

I too am one of the many that traded mail but never had a face to face meeting, or that Harley ride we planned.....
Well, he is feeling no more pain and suffering (that apparently was well hidden). I am sure there is a Harley Rider's reunion happening right now that he is at.

Condolences to Johnny's family from a fellow Canuck.

I want to thank my dear friend, Anna Coniglio, for calling me last night to break this news to me...I am still in shock.

Thanks also to Eddy for posting this. Johnny is family to me, as his wife Evelyn and my husband Angel are cousins, and lived very close to each other in Los Jaliscos. Johnny and Evelyn cooked dinner for us in April, and we brought Johnny's favorite beer from Canada for him, Alexander Keiths. I'll never be able to drink another "Keiths", without thinking of Johnny.

I will pass on good wishes and prayers to Evelyn and the children on behalf of all.

Default Gone,but never forgotten!

"Johnny" was an "Original",and then they broke the mold!"One Of A Kind" does not do him justice! He will be surely missed!

If there were any doubts about DR1 being a "Family" this Thread has put an end to that! Tom

I don't know about his early years, but I know that during the 3 years that I have lived in Sosua that whenever JH's name came up, people had positive things to say about him. He had a reputation for helping people.

I heard something interesting this morning. Not only did Johnny post on this board, he posted on any other that had to do with Sosua. His posts were so interesting and helpful, the person I was talking with this morning said, that people actually came to Sosua hoping to meet Johnny Honda. It was not uncoming, he said, for a stranger to ask him if he knew Johnny Honda and where could he find him.

Default John

Johnny and I had a few wild nights together and he was a friend. When I was attacked, robbed and almost killed in Bella Vista, Johnny's wife was one the the first people at the clinic watching out for my best interests. I owe them a great deal. I was saddened to hear about his death. Just make sure that when you open your bottle of rum, dale un chin por los muertos. Tom F.
