What's going on down there????
There have been 9 separate rate increases by the US Federal reserve in the last 17 months, the last being 25 basis points last thursday. The Euro may cease to exist as a currency a year from now if a couple of more "European Union" countries vote as expected to reject the new constitution in the coming months, and still the mighty Dominican Peso has done what no other major world currency has managed to do over the last four months, held it's own against the greenback. Are you hiding some mighty economic engine down there or is some grinch buying up pesos and taking them out of circulation. This goes beyond currency manipulation straight to Central Bank collaberation. Moderator you can move this rant to the proper area, or to the trash, I responded here in the exchange rate thread when I saw the peso hold value in the face of another rate increase for the dollar. Happy fourth.

I exchanged $80 U.S. and received 2440 pesos for a rate of 30.50 at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel, Santo Domingo, on Sunday morning, 10:15 am, July 10th. Could have been an aberration. I left town later that afternoon. Perhaps the exchange girl made a mistake, but I kept my lips sealed and was happy to get more pesos!

MY OPINION? SHEER WILL POWER & EXTREMELY STRONG GOVERNMENT MANIPULATION! MY PREDICITION? 33 - 34 P = US 1.00, BY 15spt05, A 15 - 20 % DECLINE. STAY TUNED.
