Just changes $200 US@ 33.60 at Toribio Cambio on Mendoza, Santo Domingo Este (Villa Faro). Oct. 27, 2007 at 4:00 PM.

I got my visa bill in and the CC company exchanged my charge at .030165789. then charged me 3.43 for doing that.

so a bill for 3,800 pesos cost me $114. before their exchange charge...that works out to be about 33.33

pesos to the dollar..

that seems good for me... the higher the peso is the cheaper my dollar charge..

Default The exchange for the Canadian $$ sucks!!

Especially since the CAN $$ is now 1.07 to the US $!

That's another good reason to use a CC to withdraw money - better exchange rates!

So, aren't we Canadians getting around 36 pesos when using a credit or debit card? We should be! If not, maybe the thing to do, is change our impressive loonies over to $US in Canada, before we head to the DR.
Heck, it climbed to past $1:10 at one point! Any Canadians buying a car, boat, atv, motorcycle, dirt bike or anything with a motor in it, from Canada, just haven't done the math. It's a no brainer to buy from the states!
