Question Jaragua Hotel, SD, 7jul04 = 49!!

Wed. 7 Jul04, AM. The Jaragua is billing in US $, then converting the US $ into DR Pesos, evidently required by law for all credit card purchases [the easy majority of all purchaees @ the Jargagua] crediting the U S $ [the base of charges] for 49 DR Pesos. However, in its casino, the Jaragua is trading for the US $ @ 46.5 = 1. A bargain for the Jaragua, nearly all foreign clientele? Curious. Comments?

The hotel is operated by Marriot
The casino is owned by Edmund Elias
The change cashier until 8pm is Banco Reserva
Not a conspiracy

Thumbs down POP 44.25 Fri 9jul04

Hermans Polanco, PM, for a USA check. This seems low by current standards. Anybody get a different, or better, exchange rate, in POP on Thurs, Fri., or Sat.? Curious.
