Default That Airport Immigration Form US and DR (Vacation or Business)

Hello Everyone,
I recently returned from SDQ, but this time I check the business box on the US form and the Vacation/Pleasure box when enroute to DR. My real purpose was business/meeting and apartment hunting. Of course vacation was part of the extended stay.

I know Uncle Sam will probably watch the business travelers for some tax purpose. But I was wondering would the two countries cross-check those documents?
Does it really matter which box is checked?

The DR government cross checks 100% of them so it is a good question to ask. They are now working on the tourist cards from 1967 and will move to 1968 by December.

But does anyone know what happens with the Business Traveler customs forms on the US side?
