Casas de huespedes, pensiones?
I have observed that almost always when discussing lodgin in the DR, hotels and apart hotels are always mentioned, but I have never seen any indication as to the existence of casas de huespedes or pensiones there. Are there any in Sto. Domingo or Santiago? Where do Dominican students from the provinces stay while attending College?
Also, I have read in one of the latest Dominican Republic travel books, a good review of the town of San Jose de Ocoa. It said it's a nice clean town of about 80,000 and that the highways there are in very good condition. Has any of you visited this town or is familiar with it?
