I am very interested in what Samana Justice does with this. I shall give them a few weeks, but unfortunately, I for one, an not holding my breath on a satisfactory resolution of this case. I hope I am proven wrong on this one!

You are correct Lambada, the Rash family is as down to earth, as one can be. Great people and do "NOT flaunt" anything.

I have recently learned that the last man involved in this kidnapping, has been released for the Samana jail. Is this case closed? Has the US Embassy made any public statements as to the status of this case? Where does this leave us, all the US citizens living/visiting in the DR, regarding security and justice? Maybe it has be "Swept Under the Rug"...as most thing are here. Just asking, can anyone shed some light on the subject? I am not Paranoid just Concerned (still not holding my breath), maybe "eastcoastmike" was right after all.

One strange thing about the Boca Del Diablo spot where the victim was recovered is that particular spot, the entrance being just west of the Playa Rincon entrance, on the south side of the street, is notorious for robberies. There isnt much traffic in and out of there, and there is a colmado that sits right on that corner which views everything and everyone that passes. Yet the previous many robberies that I have heard of, from motoconchos and their tourist victims, never seem to result in the arrest of the culprits. Just wondering aloud.....

Default Maybe at Town Hall Meeting

Maybe you could express your concerns, as a US citizen, at the Town Hall meeting for US citizens at Sea Horse Ranch this next Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m. I understand all US citizens are welcome if they RSVP to Sea Horae Ranch Admin office. Look it up on the web.
The new Ambassador will be there and reps from the SDQ Embassy Citizen's Services Section as well.
It's not a 'bitch' session, but if you have some legitimate concerns and behave, maybe you will be heard. Act accordingly.
Just a thought.
