I did speak to Marie this AM about it, and she told me that the kids all need shoes, so maybe that would be a good way to spend the money on them.

I agree with that, some directors have answered that whatever the children need (shoes great, short and t shirts) and any surplus can go to Marie's building fund.
I am of that opinion as a couple of others directors are but some directors still need to answer my query, I will pm you on results.

I think we are on the right track.

The money that Greg sent via apostropheman has arrived here, and the last I heard from Marie, she was thinking of getting the kids footwear with it.
I should know tomorrow.
I'll try to get pix, if I can.
I may even drive them to the shoe store.
It's just a matter of schedules, that Marie, the kids and I would all be available at the same time, when the stores are open.

I picked Marie and the kids up this morning to drive hem to POP to do some shopping.
Hopefully I'll get pix after they come back with their goodies, thanks to you guys.
