I'm in Puerto Plata & the old-fashioned land line phone appears to be working ok.

I hadn't seen this thread (only the Jodetel thread), so after having been without Orange cell service for 24 hrs now, I started to suspect that maybe my last payment had not been accounted for correctly and my service suspended and called the help line from a land line around noon today.

I was told that Orange North service is down and they are working on it, but not given any estimate of time.

If your phone still shows NO service, it would seem advisable to turn it OFF and ON again (reboot). I just did that et voila... I'm back online... only that those I wanted to call still aren't!

Orange still not working here in Cotui or La Mata.
But on the bright side, we now have 24 hours of (LUZ) !
Now its time to sell the inverter!

I dont think so - the network is down - nothing seems to be getting through in some areas.

No, text messages are nor able to be viewed either unfortunately.
