Default Crowds, cows make Dominican driving fun

I really enjoyed this story.....inconveniences are treated not as complaints, but as part of a normal quotidian day in the DR. Nice.

Driving in the DR is interesting. We had to stop more than once for cows to get out of the road. Horses, donkeys and goats are also in abundance.

The countryside is green, some planted in sugarcane, some harboring cattle. We had to stop for a couple of cowboys on horseback to herd some brahmans. We also saw donkeys being used to transport various items. One was so loaded with palm fronds (for thatch) that you could barely see him. Thatch is used over tin for many roofs; I imagine it keeps the tin from rusting (as quickly).
