General prices in Santo Domingo?

Things like beer from the supermarket, beer from a bar?
Chicken breasts from the butchers/supermarket, chicken salad/fries eating out?
Clothes, Timberland boots and so on, in comparrison to US or UK prices?
Veg in comparrison to Uk or US?

Also I hear electricity is very expensive, how much does it cost you per 1/4 (I presume it is billed per 1/4?) to supply your apartment with A/C running 2 or 3 hours a day and everything else.

Petrol?

Long term car rental per month (just a small little thing like a smart car to zoom around town in and go to the beach)with fully comp insurance?
