That's not it. I have tried to search for it but never find it. I have seen it at a cabaña one time that I went. We did not try it though.

i hadn't slept for the last 24 hours so i do look a little rough. of course, you can see in the photo that i was sporting a huge boner at the time...
BTW i cut my Jesus hair in Jarabacoa that day. never realized how hot it would be in the warm weather. felt like i had a fur hat on my head. though i have to say my strength and virility declined immediately upon leaving the barber's. i no longer have spontaneous, agressive erections while wearing jeans.

There you go. That's the sex chair that was in the cabaña I went to. It wasn't even sleazy like I imagined. Decoration was nice and it was clean.

Fond memories...
I've stayed at a couple of different cabañas, and I gotta say they were great! One was outside of San Francisco de Macoris, called La Carolina, and the other was the Genesis outside of Cotui (not as nice, but still good). I stayed there when I was living there and my circumstances forced me to sneak out to have any fun (my lips are sealed as to why) . So my view may be skewed a little because you've got to account for the thrill of rebelry, but I hope to visit some more when I return this summer.

Hey man, it looks like we we visit the same places...lol. I stay at Genesis all the time. Actually almost every night the last few times I've been down there, as my house is currently being built and at leas tover there they have electricity 24X7, hot water, etc...I hope to stay in my house this time, as I'm sick of staying in cabanas and my house is about done.
Carolinas are good, but the best ones are Girasoles in SFM. EROS (next door to Girasoles) has one cabana that's probably the best I've seen. It's as big as a house with a very expensive kitchen, wine bar, inside and outside jacuzzies, large spanish patio, etc...The only problem is that is almost never empty. It's kind of hidden, but the people who know about it apparently request it all the time.

Can you guys post some prices for the ones that have been mentioned? Maybe we can start a database of cabanas, cities and prices...

I think it would be very helpful for alot of the members of DR1. Then I know exactly where to go when I go down there later on this year.....

Yes that way we know what cabanas to avoid so DR1ers won't know who we are doing, I mean what we are doing.
Hi Jon, how's it going in Iraq?

Well, when I used them, I paid RD$300 for four hours at Carolinas in SFM, and RD$400 for four hours at Genesis in Cotui. It all kind of depends on what level of room you get as well. I always did the mid-class (I can't remember what they were called specifically at each one, this was almost two years ago - the prices are more than likely different now as well).
BTY, I've heard that there's one on the beach in Nagua. I lived in Nagua for a while, but I never went looking for it. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? I want to say I was told it was on Playa de los Gringos, but I'm not sure...
I am going back this July, and I am more than willing to take on the burdensome responsibility of researching various cabañas to find out prices and conditions. All in the name of science, of course...

Basically most cabanas are rented for four hour periods or overnight if you wish. You can expect to pay anywhere fro 250 pesos for a really basic one to 700 per four hour periods for a really nice one like the one I described at EROS.
Overnight can be from around 600 pesos to around 2000 pesos for top of the line.
Most cabanas have different levels from sencillas (simple), ejecutivas (executive level), or presidenciales (presidential).
I've been to a couple in Bonao, right off Duarte Highway. Didn't like them much. They had a round bed which I didn't care for.
Been to ones in the Malecon (Santo Domingo). Not worth it IMO.
The ones around Cotui are pretty basic with Genesis being the "best" one.
Personally I prefer the ones in SFM on the way towards Cotui.
I prefer Cabanas to some hotels in The DR. I like the fact that the rooms are normally bigger and sometimes much nicer than some so called nice hotels. I also like the fact that I can get pretty much anything I want at any time of the night or day. Try getting fresh tostones, fish and a nice cold Presidente at 4:00 AM at the Ritz Carlton...
