The numbers seem to back up her thesis: Modern marriage doesn't work for the majority of people. The rate of divorce has roughly doubled since the 1960s. Half of all marriages end in divorce. And as sketchy as poll data can be, a recent Rutgers University poll found that only 38 percent of married couples describe themselves as happy.
So, let's see 38% of married couples say they are happy. And marriage is bad? BS, the least that you can conclude from her own words is marriage is bad for about 62% of people, and that would still be unscientific.

People who complain about marriage don't seem to notice that not all the married couples are unhappy just as not all single people are running in the streets singing "joy, joy!". The day we come to realize that there's not "one size fits all" in ANYTHING we will see things more clearly. Some people are not meant to be married just as some bloom when married. YMMV though.
