A guess a nice book can be done from all these stories. sankies, tourist looking for cheap sex, prostitutes getting married to gringos to leave the country, etc, etc,.... who knows, it might become a best seller. At least I don't get tired of reading these out of this panet stories every day.

Norman what is your motivation here?
Divorce, plain and simply HURTS. Doesn't matter what country your spouse comes from. It's painful and maybe people don't need to have a whole message board hear about .

But if anyone has the need to talk about then go ahead or email norman.

Talking Who needs stinking marriages?

Most visiting tourists don't need stinking marriages, they simply pay for the honeymoon and the divorce is free of charge.

Judging from the content on this site, the chances of sucessful marriges are not that great, so maybe a thread on this subject it might be helpful for anyone thinking about it getting married. Maybe it might help to avoid rash decisions and later hardship .

There are zillions on posts on this site already which might be helpful for anyone thinking about getting married. Then again, they might not be helpful. Either way, the info about the rights/wrongs, dos/don'ts, etc. regarding marriage to a Dominican is already there.

As for divorces, that's alltogether a different kettle of fish. I guess it's mostly foreign women marrying Dominican men, and if it doesn't work out, who is going to want to offer their stories on a site such as this? You and I both know what the responses would be. All the guys would immediatly jump on anyone who did post it with "I told you so", "You should have listened when we warned you", "It could never have worked", etc. etc. etc. I'm sure divorce would be hard enough to handle as it is, without all the extra crap that would be generated here.

I think posting your happy news on an open forum is one thing, your sad news is another. I myself recently married a Dominican and - despite getting slagged off when I first asked my questions - was happy to post stuff about it here. If it all ended in tears (even though I know it won't!) there is absolutely no way whatsoever I would put myself through all the s**t that would come flying my way from certain people on this board

Has it occurred to you that maybe happy couples are, er... too "busy" to be posting stuff here. Just a thought.
