Default best town to stay for 3 girls in 20's

hello everybody, im hoping you'll can help me. my friends and i want to go to a place that has a beautiful beach and a very active nightlife. we also want to be around as many classy dominicans as possible. i was thinking about staying at the hamaca in boca chica but i heard mixed reviews. some people are saying that all lower class people go to boca chica. im very confused because some people say its a really good place to go. Also where do the popular merengue and bachata bands perform? Thank you!

Jess(NYC) there are plent of classy dominicana's right by where you live. In Washington Heights/Inwood/DRCentral there are many sexy and still classy ladies. Ya know what you should do go to The DR1 meet up October 18th, there are currently 15 DR1ers planning on attending. It should be a whole lot of fun!

If you want to hang out with "classy" Dominicans forget Boca Chica. forget the north coast as well.
In fact their are really only 2 places to go. Casa de Campo and the Capital, Santo Domingo. Just remember that your chance are slim that you will even get to associate with them. It is a very closed society. They do not particularly like tourists. They will be pleasant and polite but don't expect one to bring you home to meet Mom and Dad.

You probably won't find one place that meets all of your criteria. Boca Chica has no nightlife other than hanging out with people that would not meet your expectations of "classy".

Caberete on the north coast has a young crowd with some nightlife but it would be with many other tourists and would also not meet your "classy" criteria.

Consider staying in Santo Domingo. It has many people that would meet your criteria of "classy" and it is the best place to see the most popular bands. It does not have a beach but Boca Chica is only 30 minutes away, easy to get to and is a nice enough beach for daytime excursions.

You didn't say how long you will be here for but if you had the time you could take a couple of days to go to Punta Cana which has wonderful beaches. There are public buses that leave Santo Domingo several times a day and you can find lodging there.

Yes, it is possible. However, my opinion is to do it the other way around would be much easier. Although there are many cafes/bars that open earlier, the dance clubs in Santo Domingo usually don't get started until around midnight. After several hours of listening/dancing to bands it could be a bit of a hassle getting back to Boca Chica. You can indeed find taxis that would take you there but they will charge you plenty for that time of the morning.

Wht not take the taxi to the beach in the daytime? If you stay in Santo Domingo, a 10-15 minute cab ride will get you to your hotel from whatever club you happen to be at.

My suggestion is...
There's plenty of good hotels at Santo Domingo City (Metropolitan). Chose a good one... Depending how many days you plan to stay... then chose the one that suits your budget. There are plenty of nightlife going on in the Metropolitan area of Santo Domingo. You shouldn't have problem of finding "what to do"...

Contact certain travel agency that has those field trips to beaches... Let them take you there... It's possible that you might over pay them... But if you chose carefully compare, do your homework it shouldn't be that bad... Beside they will cover your meals during the day trip.

Dominican Republic is not only beach... Even though that the most beautiful thing that we have here... But there are also National Parks that are very beautiful, impresive waterfalls, and other places that need you to discover... Again... Depending on how long you plan to stay...

When you said you want to meet BOYS I don't quiet understand what you mean... Did you mean sexually??? Well... I don't think you will have problem finding them then... Because they are everywhere!!! And willing to... Well... You know... Just becareful with what you are wishing for...

That's it for now... Take care... Have a good trip... By the way... I recommend you to come between february to march... Because you can see whales!!! hahaha

Hope this helps...

Default Amazingly, I have to agree

That is, stay in Santo Domingo or Santiago ad go to the beaches when you wake up.

Pretty girls will always be welcome at the major sites. If you do a search here wyou will find all the good sites listed for Santo D0mingo and Santiago.

You will not find any "classy" men in Boca Chica, or the North Shore. These are tourist places and cater to tourist needs.
the major cities do not have that problem, and the more "interesting"young men will have jobs and vehicles and money and time to play a bit....

HB, who loves Francifol....but the music is so loud!!

Francifol is ok but without A/C when the power is off a bit hard to take. Also about 1 1/2 hours from the beach.
