What constitutes cheating?

One of the main differences I find between the US and the DR is the whole attitude towards what's considered cheating in either country. It seems like in the US just thinking about another woman/man if you're married or are in a committed relationship is considered cheating and you should feel guilty about it. In The DR, on the other hand it seems that having a woman or two on the side is almost expected and not frowned upon very much. Now this only applies to guys, as women are expected to be faithful...I know...male dominated society. Anyhow, my questions to you guys is in you view what constitute cheating? Do you act differently in you are in the US/Canada/wherever Vs. The DR? How far would you go before you start feeling guilt? Or do you ever feel guilt?

You only feel guilty the first time then it becomes a routine. Sort of a way of life, you simply don't think about it. If she doesn't know, she doesn't get hurt.
The only time I would feel guilty is if I were to give her a serious STD (sexual disease) then again, I can always belame it on her. Chances are she is also cheating on me.

By the way it seems to me that in the Dominican dictionary the word "cheating" should be followed in parenthesis by the word "living". Not just regarding sex but in general. The riding way of thinking seems to be " if he is dumb enough to let me get over on him then its his fault for being a victum and not mine for being the culprit"

Ok Larry...So are you saying that NOTHING is ever considered cheating in the DR? I don't think that's true. I think I know how a lot of Dominicans would answer that, but I certainly have no idea how non-dominicans would. How about Non-dominicans who have lived in the DR? Have they changed their views once they lived there? How about Dominicans who now don't live in the DR? Has living in a differenct country changed their view on this issue?

They "CHEAT" in everything they do! Sammy Sosa's bat,the 14 year old "12 Year Old" little leaguer,Balaguers "Elections",why be any different in your sex life.Half the women I have sex with are married!CC

So criss, I take it by what you say that Dominican women cheat as well as long as it's kept quiet?

Wanted to add I want hear from the men if they changed after leaving the DR not from women saying " my husband never cheats" lol

They actually come up to me and ask me to take them out here where I work.Not a lot,but some.I never do!To much outside to look for problems where I work! Dominican men cheat because their wives let them get away with it.They would do the same everywhere.I know I cheated on girlfriends,wives,no matter what country I lived in.If you are a dirtbag,it doesn't matter where you live!CC

It is not a stupid thread. It should prove very interesting. I would like to hear what other dr1 men (the usual cheaters' opinions go right over my head) have to say.

aren't you Dominican? If so have your attitudes changed since you moved away?

Could it be more of a personal thing rather than nationality?

Black, white or purple some do some don't.
