Its a hooker joint where girls come from many parts of the country to make a quick few bucks by doing tricks for money. Passion looks like a disco and when you are seated the first drink will be priced at "entrance charge" + "drink price". So if you get a huge bill for only a single round of drinks, don't be surprised. Almost all the customers are dominicans. Passion is a real sleazy place. The girls are ugly and low class. I was taken there once when I first came to Santiago. I actually thought it was a disco but when I saw the cheap girls walking around in hooker atire, I quickly made my way to the door.
Now the second place (casa blanca) is smaller but has a nicer collection of girls. The price range is about 1500 - 2000 pesos. They take credit card and the girl stays the night. I was taken there once by 2 american visiting friends of a friend. I was reluctant to go in because I was afraid to meet one of my patients inside. I was assured it was a weeknight and there was a slim chance that i would meet anyone of my aquintances, much less a patient. I had no choice but to go with them because the guys didn't speak a word of spanish. Funny, when I walked in, the first person I meet was my patient. Can't tell you how embarrasing it was being inside and meeting one of my old patients. So now I have simply put a stop to being a host to juist any visiting gringo to santiago. They all want to go to hooker places.
