I, as you, was one of those that thought with his "little head" most of the time. But I seldomly lead anybody on. Sometimes I use to lie and tell them that I had a g/f even if at that time I had none, for the simple reason that I did not wanted to be tied down with anybody. I did not wanted to have a commitment. I wanted to be free of worries and jealousy. I used to come and go anywhere I wanted without having to tell anybody anything. I was happy that way and so were them. In those days I just wanted to have "friends with benefits" and they were ok with it. Some knew that I had a few and they did not cared as I am sure that maybe some of them had a few men also but I did not asked because I was having fun and I did not cared. They were not serious relationships and the understanding was " let's have fun and let's spend quality time together without any worries". Again, that was many moons ago and when I was not looking for anything serious. And btw, yes, I still opened door, got them flowers, sent them cards, took them shopping, carried all the bags, took them on vacations at my expense and treated them very well. And then I grew up!!

You are mistaken, this thread was started by chuckuindy and is tittled "FOR MEN ONLY". The one that you are talking about is the one that I started, tittled "LADIES OF DR1, DO YOU PREFER A BAD BOY OR A GOOD BOY". You are just in the wrong thread. There, it's figured, hehe.

The lovely thing about forums of this nature is that MEN can express their views without constant interuptions. We can continue a thought process (yes we DO have those when we are allowed to) through to completion without being dragged off to another, far less important, one!! Being a notice board, women are quite at liberty to jump in & put their fourpennarth (Aprox RD $0.50) in at any time, but as so FEW of them were doing so, we MEN were just keeping things warm for you!!

Very important last sentence, Miguel, "And then I grew up". Trouble is, almost impossible to explain, unless someone has been there. I "grew up" some 14 years ago, but if you had tried explaining that notion to me, when I was playing the field, I don't think I would have understood you.

I don’t know whether it is because of the mothering instinct or they are all just a bunch of control freaks. They prefer the child like male because they think they can reform him into a wimp that they can control for their own benefit. Please tell me when you ever heard the phrase “they need to grow up” directed to any female over the age of 25. Never, it is always directed to a man. If you grow up, and can think on your own, a woman is through with you. There is no challenge left. Once they have made you grow up, and by the way positioned themselves to take charge of all of your hard earned money, they go into a state of hibernation. Gone is the beautiful body she once had. Gone are the sessions of afternoon delight. Gone is a clean home, and dinner on time.

So if this is how you wimps want to live your life, go ahead and grow up. For me I think I’ll stay here in Never Never Land.

Alrighty then! I went away for the weekend and did not check in until this morning. I started to catch up with the thread, but it is far too long for me to attempt this unless someone is paying overtime for all this reading...

My reply to many here can be summed up like this - Chucky and company:

Basically, The attention you get out of love and desperation and even the lack of self respect that brings some women to stay with you, is very different from the attention you would get out of love and respect you have earned and desrve from your woman.

Women will always be attracted to money and power regardless of position in life or the country they live in - now attraction and LOVE and RESPECT are very different. If a woman is needy enough and a man gives them what they need, even if they are NOT attracted to that man physically or LOVE him, they will take it. However, they WILL find a man that loves them and cares for them and will give them the world one encounter at a time - that man is usually the cuerno these women find while you are away 'making your powerful money' at work or back in the states (hint, hint Chucky).

What do you men think, that only YOU can cheat? Men who have the mentality you do have a beautiful woman by their side, and they usually have a NICE man ON the side!

Dont get me wrong, I'm all about having a 'happy' camper at home, and that means doing many things that 'Americanized' and others may think is outdated and or can be viewed as demeaning. But, as long as I am happy doing it and there is the same attention coming back somehow, then is all good.

Two great sayings comes to mind:

1. The man may be the head of the household, but the women are the neck and we can point the head wherever it needs to go.

2. With every succesful man there is a great woman BESIDES him.

I like the first point. The second one not as much. It suggests that men are still the ones in control, and powerful, and as we all know that's a thing of the past. I believe this very well known saying, no longer applies. But I do get what you're trying to say and agree. If you're happy in your marriage, you do what needs to be done, there is no power struggle; reciprocity is a good thing.

I am TOTALLY in control in OUR household! I make ALL the decisions after "SHE" has told me what we are doing & when!!!

SHE does all the cooking (because I burn things)
SHE looks after most of the bills (Because I would 'Forget')
SHE drives herself shopping (because I drive too fast)
SHE sleeps in her room & I get to watch my sports (Because I snore)
SHE makes all the decisions I want her too (because I am too lazy)
We HAD to get a dishwasher (because I broke too many plates)
